Tips for Flattening Prints

Prints are shipped rolled and will need to be flattened before framing

Find a flat, clean surface. Make sure hands are clean/dry or wear cotton gloves.

Carefully unroll print and place it print-side-up on the flat surface. *Do not discard packaging.

Important - Use the included Glassine Protective Paper to cover the print surface.

Never roll the print the opposite direction this will damage the paper.

Gently place heavy items such as books on each corner. Leave for a few hours *times may vary.

If re-rolling your print, always roll print side facing out (as it was received).

*Note mat paper is susceptible to scuffing; it is important to always be careful and avoid sliding any objects over the print surface.

I recommend displaying your artwork in a well lit space, avoid direct UV light which can quickly cause discoloration.

Unless UV-resistant glass is used.

Handling your fine art print

Try to keep handling to a minium

1. Clean Hands or Gloves

Always wash your hands thoroughly before handling.

Preferably, wear clean cotton or nitrile gloves to avoid transferring oils, sweat, or dirt.

2. Use a Clean, Dry, Flat Surface

Lay the print on a clean, dry, and smooth surface free of debris.

Avoid rough surfaces that can scratch or scuff the print.

3. Handle by the Edges

Hold the print only by its edges to prevent creasing or fingerprints on the artwork surface.

Avoid bending or curling the print.

4. Avoid Touching the Image Area

Do not touch the printed surface

Fingerprints can permanently damage the image quality.

5. Protect from Moisture and Sunlight

Keep the print in a dry environment away from direct sunlight and humidity.

Moisture and UV rays can cause fading or warping over time.

6. Store Flat or in a Tube (With Care)

Store flat between acid-free paper.

If rolling is necessary, use a large-diameter archival tube and protective tissue paper to prevent creasing.

7. *Recommended Frame Using Archival Materials

Use acid-free mats and backing boards.

UV-protective glass or acrylic is recommended for long-term display.

8. Keep Away from Food, Drinks, or Pets

Never handle prints around food, drinks, or pets to prevent accidental damage.
